Our ongoing efforts to build a seamless, reliable network of Express Lanes in the Greater Washington Area is advancing, following a key vote by Virginia’s Commonwealth Transportation Board.

The Board, which oversees transportation projects and initiatives for Virginia, unanimously approved the 395 Seminary Road Ramp Project and the 95 Express Lanes Opitz Boulevard Ramp Project. Both projects will provide Express Lanes customers with expanded and more convenient access to travel choices around growing economic hubs along the I-95/I-395 corridor.

Construction on Opitz Boulevard Ramp is scheduled to begin in mid-2022, while the 395 Seminary Road Ramp Project is scheduled for operational conversion later this year.
