As part of WestConnex, the existing 7.5 kilometre section of the New M4 Motorway from Parramatta to Homebush has been widened from three lanes to four in each direction.
This has led to significant improvements in travel time across the West between Parramatta and Homebush.
The New M4 opened to motorists from 15 July 2017 and a distance based toll was applied between Church Street, Parramatta and Homebush Drive, Homebush. Over 80 per cent of the M4 Motorway, between Emu Plains and Parramatta, will remain un-tolled.
Transurban acquired it in 2018 as part of the WestConnex Project. It is 25.5% Transurban owned.
