M5 South West

The M5 South West is a 22km road running between Prestons and Beverly Hills in Sydney's southwest. It connects the F5, M5 East and Westlink M7 and is a key route between the city centre and Sydney's southwestern suburbs.

A project to widen the M5 West was completed in December 2014 adding an additional lane in each direction. The project also included installation of variable message signs, up to 18kms of noise walls, and a new operations management control system at Hammondville.

M5 South West opened to traffic in 1992 and was acquired in June 2007. It is 50% Transurban owned and under concession until 2026.
