What is happening?

In August 2026, the NSW Government announced approval to proceed with the proposed M2 - M7 Widening Project.

Transurban Limited (Transurban/WSO Co Pty Ltd), on behalf of Transport for NSW is currently in the early planning phase for the proposed project which includes the widening of the Hills M2 and Westlink M7 from two lanes in each direction to three lanes in each direction between the Westlink M7 at Oakhurst and the Hills M2 at Baulkham Hills.

Project scope

The proposed widening will span approximately 16km from the Hills M2 at Windsor Road, Baulkham Hills to the Westlink M7 at Simms Road. The widening of the Hills M2 and Westlink M7 motorways is a critical project to support increased vehicle demand and ensure capacity, reliability of these two motorways.
