What is Toll Road Ready?
Toll Road Ready is a short (30-minute) online course designed to help learner drivers (L-platers) and new drivers (P-platers) prepare for toll-road driving. The course answers common questions and shares expert tips on topics such as:
- how tolling works
- trip planning
- driving in tunnels
- merging onto motorways
- avoiding extra fees, and more.

Toll Road Ready was created by Transurban. We operate 18 toll roads in Australia, across New South Wales, Queensland and Victoria – helping people get where they want to go as quickly and safely as possible.
We want new drivers to get the most out their travel with us – and this course is about setting learner drivers up for toll-road driving success.

What's involved
First you’ll complete a short survey to help us understand your current toll-road driving experience. Then, the Toll Road Ready course has four modules and two quizzes, plus knowledge checks along the way. It should take around 30 minutes to finish.
When you pass the final quiz, you’ll be asked to complete a follow-up survey and from there, your egift card will be emailed to you (while available).
Teaching someone to drive?
Helping learner drivers build skills and confidence takes time, patience – and a working knowledge of current road rules and driving techniques. If your own P-Plate test was a while ago, and you’re a bit rusty on specific laws and so on, we’ve pulled together some helpful resources for you and your learner/s to explore.
And please do encourage your learner driver/s to complete this course. The info it provides will answer a lot of questions they may have about toll roads.
