Safety smarts for young cyclists

Kids will soon be learning the road rules in a fun, interactive environment

As a legacy of the Logan Enhancement Project, two cycle parks are being designed and delivered in Queensland, and it’s all about getting our youngest road users up to speed on basic road safety.

Designed to resemble a real road, each cycle park will allow kids to interpret and understand different road signs, experience travel at different speeds and learn how to give way and share the road safely.

Each park’s design is also inspired by elements from local South East Queensland communities, including bushland, suburbia, the city skyline, industrial / trade zones, the Brisbane and Logan rivers and the Sir Leo Hielscher bridges.

Where are the cycle parks being delivered?

We are delivering two cycle parks, one in Brisbane - Greenways Esplanade Park in Parkinson, and one in Logan – Demeio Road Park in Marsden.

Making the cycle school a reality

We’re aiming to start construction shortly and, provided the weather allows and construction goes as planned, the cycle parks should be finished and ready for its first riders in the first quarter of 2020.

The cycle parks are being designed and delivered in partnership with Logan City Council and Brisbane City Council.
