It’s probably not surprising that during peak hour in Sydney over 70 per cent of the cars driven by workers have one person in the car. 

In fact, this figure may even seem pretty low, after all you only have to look each way to see all the empty seats out on our roads.

But for our cities to flourish we need to make the most of the space we have. This is especially important on our roads.

One way to do this is by getting people to fill the empty seats by carpooling.

We know that carpooling isn’t always the easiest, or most desirable thing to do. But it could have significant impacts on congestion, emissions, and make travel more affordable.
