Ronald McDonald House provides accommodation and support to families who need a home away from home when a seriously ill or injured child requires hospital treatment.
This year more than 300 participants came together at our sixth annual Charity Day to raise $240,000 for Ronald McDonald House Charities South East Queensland (SEQ).
These funds will be used to improve the accommodation provided at Herston House by upgrading its wheelchair accessibility and increasing its support for longer family stays, as well as children with weakened immune systems – creating a fully self-contained unit.
Our theme for 2018 was ‘The Games’ – inspired by the recent Commonwealth Games at the Gold Coast. We climbed, raced, and jumped our way to Games Glory at Brisbane’s iconic RNA Showgrounds. This was followed by a raffle, silent auction, and live auction over lunch.
Sue Johnson, our Group Executive Transurban Queensland, was thrilled that this year’s participants embraced their inner athlete at this fun, but competitive team event.
“We’re delighted with the support this year’s event provided to Ronald McDonald House,” Sue said.
