As part of our partnership with Landcare Australia, together we have developed an urban landcare initiative in the vicinity of our Monash Freeway Upgrade, alongside freeway upgrade works.

The City of Greater Dandenong will be regenerating a section of Dandenong Creek immediately adjacent to the freeway, using plants native to the area. The grants, provided by Transurban will support this particular section, and contribute to habitat enhancement works being undertaken by the City of Greater Dandenong elsewhere along the creek.

The Monash Freeway Upgrade project is the fourth in a series of initiatives undertaken between Landcare Australia and Transurban, to rethink the use of vacant land across its roads network. Successfully completed projects include the regeneration of Melbourne’s Power Street Loop and the M2 Macquarie Park Motorscapes project in Sydney. Landcare works are also currently underway on the CityLink Tulla Widening Urban Landcare Project.
