Tennessee Department of Transportation has chosen DriveTN Consortium for its first P3 choice lanes project.

DriveTN, comprised of Ferrovial, Transurban and Tikehau Star Infra (Tikehau Star Infra is the infrastructure division of Tikehau Capital North America, a subsidiary of Tikehau Capital), has been selected as the best value proposer to deliver Tennessee’s I-24 Southeast Choice Lanes.

The project will add 26 miles of choice lanes in both directions between I-40 east of downtown Nashville to I-840 near Murfreesboro.

The selection marks a major step in an emerging market in North America, as the I-24 Choice Lanes represent the first public-private partnership and the largest single capital investment the state of Tennessee has undertaken.

As communities across the United States continue to grow, more and more governments are looking toward innovative infrastructure investment models that meet current and future transportation needs.

Similar to Transurban’s Express Lanes network in Virginia, Tennessee’s Choice Lanes are expected to provide faster, more reliable trips through chronically congested corridors. In Virginia, the 95, 395 and 495 Express Lanes save travelers 22,000 hours every workday near the nation’s capital in Washington DC.
