The West Gate Tunnel Project has welcomed four Victoria University undergraduate students to the project team for a six-week summer internship.
Shadman, Madhav, Renae and Marvin are busy working with the engineering, safety and communications and stakeholder engagement teams to experience life on one of the biggest construction projects underway in Victoria.
This unique placement opportunity allows students to gain real-life work experience and exposure to a major project, which they have been learning about through their studies at university.
The internship program is part of an ongoing collaboration between Transurban and Victoria University. Over the past year, the West Gate Tunnel team has provided support to the university’s Engineering and Project Management Faculty, including providing materials for West Gate Tunnel case studies and participating as guest lecturers.
We look forward to benefitting from these students’ skills and new ideas over the coming weeks.
