Louise’s job is to help keep Sydney moving

For many people who arrive in Sydney, Transurban’s Eastern Distributor is often the first road they take from the airport.

It’s the gateway to our city. And as the head of a team of industry-leading engineers that keeps the road running, Louise is the gatekeeper.

The Eastern Distributor is a road with its own unique set of challenges – it can’t be widened and it can’t be lengthened. So it’s a good thing Louise has never shied away from a challenge. Instead, she uses her engineering expertise to look for creative new ways to improve the road, its operation and traffic flow.

Louise is keeping us moving. Whether it’s finding new ways to manage congestion analysing traffic data to make safety improvements – like closing Cleveland Street off ramp to improve traffic flow and safety for drivers, Louise and her team of engineers are constantly thinking ahead – and working to make a real difference.

Louise got her start in mining, and she’s often surprised at the similarities between operating the mines and running urban roads. The environments might be vastly different, but the engineering ambitions remain the same – to solve problems before they happen, and to never stop striving for better.

Louise’s job is to get you to yours, quickly and safely.
