Supporting toll reform in NSW

Transurban has been a long-term advocate for toll road reform in NSW.

We support the objectives of the NSW Government's toll review and are aligned in our efforts to make toll roads simpler and fairer for NSW motorists. We are exploring a range of practical and implementable solutions to make the road network better for Sydney drivers.

Along with our partners, we’ve invested $36 billion into Sydney’s motorways, which has provided enormous liveability and productivity benefits. A successful outcome for all stakeholders on NSW toll reform remains one of our most important priorities.

We have been working with the NSW Government to find a solution that balances the needs of customers and our significant investment.  

We have also consistently advocated for:

• decision-point signage and pricing transparency initiatives (for example, adding pricing to Google Maps and Linkt Trip Compare calculator) to give motorists choice
• early notification (prior to first toll notice being issued) and digitisation of toll notices
• consolidated toll notices to provide greater clarity on toll charges
• centralised ombudsman to make it simpler for customers to raise concerns.
