Skills and experience 

Michael has extensive major project delivery and executive management experience working across mining, infrastructure, energy, environment, utilities and telecommunications.

Michael is currently the Executive Chair (since 2020) and CEO (since 2021) of Thiess Group, a Director of the Minerals Council of Australia and Chair of the International River Foundation Board.

Michael was previously the CEO of CIMIC Group (2017- 2020), where he was responsible for leading Sedgman, UGL, CPB Contractors, Leighton Asia and Thiess. He also previously served as a Non-executive Director of Adbri Limited (2021 - 2024).
